Craft meets technology. Pressure-sensitive pens on a graphics tablet produce works with the range of brush shapes classical painting knows. Working in many layers allows styles to be mixed and multi-dimensional compositions to be built. The aim is to push boundaries while preserving the essence of traditional art forms.
Abstract Reflection of Creatures
Travel, architecture and industrial photography give rise to abstract creatures. The series plays deliberately with pareidolia, the brain's ability to recognise familiar faces and objects in patterns. Visual perception is never only the processing of stimuli, it is always also recognition, shaped by individual experience and assumption.
